"You're laughing?" the old teacher exclaimed, pointing his long stick at Kai.
Kai snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes widening when the old teacher began walking up to him.
The old teacher looked at the badge on Kai's uniform and shook his head.
"What a boastful first-year student," he clicked his tongue. "What's your name, young man?"

A small smile emerged on Bao's face.

"Yeah," Bao said, still smiling.
"You were cool, Bao," Kai briefly said.
Bao pursed his lips and looked down at his lap, not knowing how to take the compliment. All of the rumors he heard said that Kai was a cold-hearted, disrespectful troublemaker.
However, from their small interactions, he seemed pretty sweet.
